Apple Charcuterie Board

How about those apples.

POV: You’ve just hauled home 2 pounds of freshly plucked apples and are looking for a way to incorporate into a charcuterie board.

These three cheeses provide the ultimate sweet savory combination with fresh apples:

  1. Sharp Cheddar
  2. Gouda
  3. Parmesan

Don’t be afraid to slice one ingredient multiple ways. This is a quick and simple way to add varieties of texture on your board.

Apple Pie Dip w/ Pie Crust Rounds:

Ingredients

1 stick of butter

2 1/4 cups of flour

1 TSP of salt

3-4 TSP of flour

3 medium-large granny smith apples

2 TBSP of brown sugar

1 TSP of cinnamon

Apple Pie Dip:

  1. Peel, core and dice granny smith apples into fine pieces.
  2. Heat pan to medium heat.
  3. Melt butter. Add sugar. Stir until melted. Add apples. Cook on medium for 5-7 minutes.
  4. Lower heat, and simmer until apples are tender or for approximately 7 additional minutes.
  5. Remove from pan and allow to cool.

Pie Crust Rounds:

  1. Cube cold stick of butter and add to food processor.
  2. Add flour & salt.
  3. Slowly pulse and add cold water tablespoon by tablespoon until crumbly mixture achieved.
  4. Let cool overnight.
  5. Roll out dough until thin.
  6. With help of a circular cookie cutter (or smaller glass), cut into circular rounds.
  7. Cover with egg wash & sugar.
  8. Place on baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  9. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes or until golden brown depending on the size of your cut out.
  10. Allow cone to fully cool, serve & enjoy!

Simple Oven Baked Apple Chips:

Ingredients:

2-3 firm Gala Apples

1 TSP of Cinnamon

1 TSP of brown sugar

  1. Peel, core and thinnly slice apples.
  2. Place apples on a towel and pat dry to obsorb excess water.
  3. Heat oven to 200.
  4. Add apples to bowl. Toss and fully coat with cinnamon and sugar.
  5. Line on a parchment paper.
  6. Bake at 200 for 1 hour.
  7. Flip apples to opposite side. Cook for an additional hour.
  8. Serve & enjoy!
